A warm welcome to all for the Fourteenth Annual Meeting of the European Hair Research Society (EHRS) to be held on July 2-4, 2009 at the Medical University Graz located in Graz-a university town with Mediterranean flair located in southeast Austria!
The scientific committee has setup an exciting program covering the latest advances in both basic and clinical hair research. The meeting opens with a stimulating talk by Rudolf Happle entitled Circular reasoning on hair loss in circles: Alopecia areata and irrationalism. Further this year the EHRS is delighted to honor Kurt Stenn with the prestigious John Ebling Lecture on Bioengineering the hair follicle: paradigm and paradox. The congress program includes advances in hair growth biology, pathology, diagnosis and therapy, including hair genetics, psychosomatics of hair and its associated disorders, as well as aspects of hair care and cosmetics. With delegates and scientific communications (oral and posters) from the five continents, this meeting promises to be both informative and inspirational. Finally, Alfredo Rebora will surprise us with his thoughts on Lucy's pelt .
